We are pleased to announce that the month of July 2022 has been reserved for an exhibition by the Howland’s esteemed artist member-friends. Because 477 Main St. is celebrating its 150th Anniversary this year, we wish to have all our art exhibitions reflect history in some form. Keeping that in mind, we are encouraging artists to create new work that looks back at old memories or moments that were moving, inspirational, defining...whether a childhood reverie or family portrait, depictions of growing up in Beacon or the Hudson Valley, of the Howland Cultural Center from early times, of objects or times you recall that deserve to be depicted on paper or canvas.
The personal possibilities are endless. As always, all media is welcomed. Although the show will be juried; all impressions, ideas and imagery to the theme will be considered. So break out the brushes, cameras and memories and share your history and recollections with us!
The Howland Cultural Center can accommodate three-dimensional work as long as it fits on the shelves of the bays - no podiums or free standing sculptures.
This will be a juried show. Use the link to the application and return it with images by email to [email protected] or by real mail to the address below. The exhibit will debut July 2nd, run through July 24th and will be open to the public on weekends from one to five. There is a $25 entry fee and the Howland receives 25% of all sales.
The deadline for submission is May 31th. Submitting artists will be notified of works accepted by June 3rd.
Artwork Drop-off to the Howland Center: Monday June 27th, from 1-6pm and Tuesday June 28th from 10-12pm.
The show will run from July 2 to July 24.
