The Howland Cultural Center honored the remarkable contributions of Florence Northcutt by dedicating its main gallery space, now known as Northcutt Hall. During this special occasion, Florence was surrounded by her loving family, friends, and community. At 97 years old, she remained an active member of the Board of Directors and had dedicated her life to volunteer work prior to her passing on April 17, 2024.
Florence Northcutt will be remembered as a visionary and generous leader who cherished the ideals of cultivating a thriving artistic community. Her leadership and spirit of volunteerism greatly enriched our community, particularly through her work at the Howland Cultural Center over the past 38 years. We and those she served are tremendously grateful for the extraordinary impact Florence made in the lives of children, adults, and families.
The Northcutt Legacy Fund for the Howland Cultural Center is designed to be a source of income to support the Center in perpetuity. To help foster the Center's mission and the preservation of the historic building, including the Northcutt Hall gallery.
